Hep C patients benefit from regular psychiatric screening
A study of nearly 400 such patients attending the Royal Adelaide Hospital liver clinic from 2006 to 2010 found probable prevalence rates of 41% for anxiety and 27% for depression, which were higher than the community norms.
Younger patients in particular experienced increased anxiety, the researchers found.
