Hepatitis C vaccine breakthrough

Associate Professor Heidi Drummer, from the institute’s Centre for Virology, said hepatitis C was one of the most highly variable viruses circulating in the world.

“Hepatitis C has a great ability to change its structure and evade the immune response. This makes vaccine development challenging,” Professor Drummer said.
