High LDL-C may not predict MI in CKD

Canadian researchers studied more than 830,000 people with CKD and found that during a four-year follow-up period, 7762 patients were hospitalised for MI, most of whom had the lowest levels of renal function at the start of the study.

However, the link between higher LDL cholesterol and MI risk was weaker for patients with very low renal function than for those with better renal function.
