High-risk AF patients not getting anticoagulants

A substantial number of Australian AF patients are not getting the anticoagulants they need, a leading cardiologist told the CSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in Melbourne today.

Dr Harry Gibbs, deputy director of general medicine at the Alfred, presented fresh data on over 500 Australians in the Garfield Global registry study of people with newly diagnosed atrial fibrillation and at least one stroke risk factor – data received only the day before the
