Hip arthroscopy benefits might be ‘inflated’
Hip arthroscopy for hip osteoarthritis patients (OA) may be beneficial but current evidence may have "inflated" their positive effects, according to an Australian systematic review.
The study led by Dr Joanne Kemp from Federation University reviewed 22 studies and found people with hip OA may derive some benefit from the intervention.
However, the benefits were much larger for those who didn't have hip OA.
