House dust mites implicated in IBD

HOUSE dust mites may be an important trigger of gut dysfunction and conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, say French researchers.

The dust mite dermatophagoides pteronyssinus was found in around half of gut and stool samples taken from healthy patients undergoing endoscopy.
