Hungry and angry: the perfect recipe for an explosive fight

US researchers found that the levels of blood glucose in 107 married couples, measured each night for 21 days, predicted how angry they would be with their spouse that evening. The level of anger was measured by the number of pins stuck in a voodoo doll representing the other spouse.

People who had generally lower levels of glucose were also willing to blast their spouses with unpleasant noises at a higher volume and for a longer time than those who had higher glucose levels.
