Hypnosis given thumbs up for hot flushes

CLINICAL hypnosis is one of two mind-body therapies getting a thumbs up from the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) for use in reducing menopause-related vasomotor symptoms.

In its first updated position statement for 11 years on nonhormonal interventions for hot flushes, NAMS dismisses popular herbal remedies and says exercise won’t help, although weight loss might.
