Increased risk of CKD in patients with psoriasis

Analysing a database of more than 140,000 UK adult patients with psoriasis and comparing them to matched controls, researchers found increasing propensity to CKD with severity of psoriasis and with age, independent of other risk factors.

Screening for renal insufficiency should be considered for any patients whose psoriasis affects 3% or more of their body, they recommended.
