Intriguing findings from epilepsy study

A Taiwan study provides “compelling evidence” of an increased risk of developing epilepsy in people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Raw data from a large cohort of RA patients showed a 27% increased risk of developing epilepsy over 10 years compared with matched controls. Adjustments for age, sex, comorbidities and medications bumped up this risk to a 52% greater chance of epilepsy than controls.
