iPads could play role in screening for dementia

Japanese researchers have developed a new version of an iPad-based dementia screening tool which could be effective in community medical check-ups.

The iPad version for Cognitive Assessment for Dementia (CADi2) has an accuracy rate of up to 93% and is able to discriminate between a group of mild to moderately impaired Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients and a group of healthy same-aged peers from a 27-person sample.
