IUDs appropriate for nulliparous women

Dr Deborah Bateson, director of Family Planning NSW, will present the results of a study of IUD insertions in primary care at the First National and Sexual Reproductive Health Conference in Melbourne this week.

“It can be a very appropriate method of contraception for younger women as well as older women [but] we know there’s very low usage in Australia of these kinds of long-acting methods,” she said.
