Legalising heroin supported by users

Sydney researchers added questions from the National Drug Strategy Household Survey to last year’s Illicit Drug Reporting System (IDRS) – a sentinel group of drug users – to determine the differences in opinions between users and the general population.

They found about three-quarters of the general population supported increased penalties for the sale or supply of all drugs compared to 30% of drug users.
