A REAL-WORLD study provides reassuring evidence that restricting access to subsidised blood glucose test strips doesn’t worsen clinical outcomes for patients with diabetes.

The Canadian study has found that limiting patient reimbursement for test strips had no impact on rates of emergency department visits for hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia, nor did it lead to changes in average HbA1c levels.
