Links found between Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia

Alzheimer’s and small-vessel disease (SVD) pathologies are interconnected, say the authors of a new Dutch study.

Their research involved MRI scans of the brains of nearly 1000 people, around half of whom had an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, 30 with vascular dementia and the rest healthy controls.
