Low GI diet may lower cholesterol in overweight patients

Primary healthcare researchers in Canada included four studies with a total of 212 people in their review.

Pooled data showed consuming a low GI diet compared to a high GI diet had a statistically significant impact on lipids, reducing total cholesterol by 0.27mmol/L and LDL by 0.23 mmol/L in just 5–12 weeks.
