Low-dose whey protein shows benefits
24th September 2014
A low-dose whey protein preload slows gastric emptying and improves post-prandial glycaemia in type 2 diabetes, according to an Australian study presented at the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD 2014) in Vienna.

The study is a follow-up to a previous study that found 55g of whey protein taken 30 minutes
before a meal reduced postprandial glycaemia in patients with type 2 diabetes, related in part to slowing of gastric emptying.
