Managing AF risk factors can be a cure for some

Atrial fibrillation can be stopped altogether in a significant number of patients by aggressively managing their risk factors, Dr Rajeev Kumar Pathak told delegates at the CSANZ 2015 conference.

A randomised trial showed that two fifths of patients put on “aggressive risk factor management” had no AF after 12 months, said Dr Pathak, from the University of Adelaide.
