MANY women are able to cope with their vasomotor symptoms by making simple lifestyle modifications, such as by layering clothing, using a fan, and avoiding triggers of hot flushes (including spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and smoking). Stress management is also an important tool, and many women find regular exercise, yoga and meditation very useful.
