Misleading claims that red wine can protect from cancer

While health claims for resveratrol are becoming more common in Europe, a study shows the wine ads are misleading the consumer, according to researchers from Germany and Canada.

Resveratrol was present in only trace amounts in wine, they said, estimating a person would need 111 glasses per day in order to achieve protection against the carcinogenic effects of ethanol.
