Mosquitoes fly under the radar
PUBLIC health campaigns in Western Australia about mosquito-borne diseases are clearly failing to bite.
Recently published survey results show about one in six residents think malaria and dengue are endemic to the state.
Thankfully, only a handful of residents think mosquitoes transmit HIV.
These results come from a phone survey of 2500 adults on what people know about mosquito-borne disease and how to avoid being bitten.
