National pertussis cocooning vaccination approach lacking

Elizabeth Cockroft and Nathan Taylor told The Australian they believe their son Malakai contracted pertussis from his mother at six weeks – too early to be vaccinated himself and two months after Queensland Health scrapped its cocooning program on 30 June.

“I hate to think back on it now but I know I had whooping cough then. Whether he got it from me I don’t know but I had it and he ended up with it,” Ms Cockroft said.
