Neuroscientist ‘kills’ neurologist

A motor neurone disease researcher is on trial for killing his neurologist wife with a dose of cyanide in an energy drink.

Dr Robert Ferrante of the University of Pittsburgh allegedly gave his wife, Dr Autumn Klein, a creatine drink, telling her it would help her get pregnant.

Prosecutors contend Dr Ferrante had laced the drink with cyanide he had bought with a university credit card two days before his wife’s death.
