A new way of looking at stem cells

An international team of scientists believe they have made an important advance in understanding the many levels of interaction between stem cells and the immune system.

Their work challenges the idea that stem cells only replace damaged cells by demonstrating that  they can also transfer molecules to other cells to modify damaging immune responses.
