Now CGM has come of age, we need uniformity: experts

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technologies must report standardised measurements if they are to deliver on their potential as research tools and to improve clinical care, an international group of specialists says.

CGM has particular potential for preventing hypoglycaemic events and monitoring post-prandial  hyperglycaemia, according to a consensus report.

And, unlike glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), which reflects average glucose levels over the past two or three months, CGM could alert for impending hypoglycaemia, it says.
