NSAIDs linked to heart failure: study

NSAIDs such as ibuprofen could increase the risk of being admitted to hospital with heart failure, a study has found.

Previous research has linked the drugs to arrhythmia and an increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke if taken regularly.

The new study, published in the British Medical Journal, used data from almost 10 million NSAIDs users from the UK, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany, who started NSAID treatment between 2000 and 2010.
