Oestrogen therapy worsens dry eye in menopause

Oestrogen therapy worsens dry eye symptoms in postmenopausal women while testosterone therapy has little effect, according to UNSW researchers.

The findings contradict previous small studies that suggested women could benefit from oestrogen supplementation to manage dry eyes.
