Ongoing cannabis use worsens psychosis

Danish researchers interviewed 314 first-episode psychosis patients after diagnosis, finding only 30% of those who used cannabis during the five years of follow-up had remission of psychotic symptoms, compared with 56% of those who did not use cannabis after diagnosis.

Psychotic dimension scores were higher in those continuing to use cannabis over the five years compared with both those who did not use cannabis after diagnosis and those who stopped using cannabis at baseline.
