Online quiz picks up secondary Raynaud’s

Nearly one in five respondents had sores or ulcers

A simple online quiz may help patients with undiagnosed Raynaud’s phenomenon recognise the need for medical advice and enable earlier diagnosis of systemic sclerosis in some cases.

Of nearly 19,000 people who found and used the quiz on a patient organisation website during one year, nearly one in five had sores or ulcers on their digits that could indicate a more serious underlying condition, and were advised to visit their GP.

Only 6% of those who completed the quiz were told that it was ‘unlikely that they had Raynaud’s,’ with the majority (75%) being told they might have the condition
