Onus on oncologists to discuss CAM use

Oncologists must be proactive about discussing complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) use with their patients, says the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA).

The COSA position statement on CAM use by cancer patients says that although two-thirds of patients use one form of CAM during their treatment, only 40% of those discuss their use with their oncologists.
