Overeating and dementia risk

The study included 1233 people between the ages of 70 and 89 years, who did not have dementia. 

The odds of having mild cognitive impairment more than doubled for those who consumed 2143 to 6000 calories per day, compared with those who consumed between 600 and 1526 calories per day, even after adjusting for other risk factors. 

The higher the amount of calories consumed each day, the higher the risk.
