Parents benefit from diabetes optimism

Parents of children with diabetes are overly optimistic about their child's future but their views are often not based on medical evidence, research shows.

However a healthy dose of optimism meant parents were less likely to be depressed, the small study of 71 mothers of children with type 1 diabetes found.
