Patient choice of CAM should command respect: COSA

In a position statement published this week, the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) urges doctors to respect the wishes of patients keen to use CAM and to educate them about evidence-based medicine.

Doctors need to explore whether a patient with cancer is using CAM, the statement says, citing a survey showing up to 65% will do so, at least half in conjunction with conventional therapy.
