PBS listings for cancer drugs
Several new anti-cancer treatments will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme from 1st April, the government has announced.
They include the monoclonal antibodies panitumumab and denosumab for the treatment of colorectal cancer and giant cell tumour of the bone, respectively, along with the oral chemotherapy drug temozolomide for gioblastoma multiforme.
Welcoming the addition of panitumumab for colorectal patients with KRAS gene mutations, Bowel Cancer CEO Julien Wiggins said it had taken six years to get the PBS listing.
