Perinatal mood disorder linked to partner violence
In a meta-analysis of 67 studies, they found a link between mental disorders during pregnancy and previous history of partner violence, particularly during pregnancy.
The prevalence of probable postnatal depression following experiences of partner violence during pregnancy was estimated at around 13%, although “causality cannot be inferred”, the UK researchers said.
Post-traumatic stress disorder was also reported.
