Poor pregnancy outcomes with measles infection

An outbreak of measles in 2009–11 in Namibia allowed researchers to do a case control study on pregnant and non-pregnant women with measles.

The risk of maternal and intra-uterine fetal death was ninefold higher among the pregnant women with measles and the risk of miscarriage and low birth weight was also increased.
