Poor type 2 monitoring in the regions

Most type 2 patients living in rural and remote areas do not get tested according to guidelines, according to a population-based study.

Medical data from over 13,000 regional people with diabetes shows only 42% had the recommended six-monthly HbA1C tests.

Over 30% also missed out annual lipid testing, the researchers from the Hunter Medical Institute and other bodies found.
