Prediction without pigment

Pigment structures seen through a dermatoscope are very useful for analysing pigmented skin lesions, and even in lightly pigmented lesions they should be regarded as the most specific clues and assessment should give them priority.

With non-pigmented lesions, every clue, both clinical and dermatoscopic, should be considered to try to achieve a reasonable degree of accuracy with respect to a decision about performing a biopsy.
