Prematurity link to BP variability

According to researchers from Finland who investigated the association of early preterm (<34 weeks) and late preterm birth (34—36 weeks) on 24-hour ambulatory BP, young adults born early preterm have an 18% higher risk of cardiac events and about 21% higher risk of stroke compared to adults born to term.

The findings are based on a study that compared 42 young adults born early preterm, 72 born late preterm and 103 controls who were born full term.
