Protein: Why balance has never been so important

The latest Australian Health Survey raises concerns the nation’s health – for women especially. But the solution can be as simple as getting diet right and helping patients understand the importance of getting the balance right between different types of protein.

Australian data confirms that 38% of women aged 19–50 are lacking in iron, increasing to 40% in girls aged 14–18.1 Other recent research confirms that only 20% of the population meets the recommended intake of omega-3 intake through diet and only 10% of women of childbearing age meet the recommended docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) intake
