PSA test info slammed for using old data

The document, PSA Testing for Prostate Cancer in Asymptomatic Men: Information for Health Practitioners, outlines the potential benefits and harms associated with PSA testing and is open for public consultation until 20 August.

Professor Mark Frydenberg, vice president of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), said there were gaps in the data used.

“With regards to the harms of treatments they are potentially exaggerating those by looking at old data rather than
