Pubertal timing associated with diabetes, breast cancer

A large international study has uncovered genetic associations between the timing of puberty and its links to diseases such as diabetes and breast cancer.

The 180,000-woman study shows menarche is a heritable trait and determined by more than 100 different genetic signals.
