Rapid BP lowering in stroke

The research involved more than 2800 patients who had an intracerebral haemorrhage within the previous six hours and who had high blood pressure, at 140 hospitals around the world, including 12 from Australia.

Participants received either intensive treatment to lower their systolic BP to a target of <140mmHg within one hour, or guideline-recommended care to reach a target systolic BP of <180mmHg.
