Reduced anxiety linked to some unsaturated fats

Cross-sectional data on more than 7600 women aged 25–30 enrolled in the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health showed higher intake of omega-6 fatty acids, found in seed oils, was linked to reduced risk of anxiety, while higher intake of omega-9s was linked to an increased risk.

Most omega-3 fatty acids were not significantly linked to mood but higher intake of alpha-linolenic acid was associated with a decreased chance of depressive symptoms.
