Rehab neglected by Aussie cardiologists

A Melbourne cardiologist has called for better return-to-work support for acute MI patients, saying his colleagues have “dropped the ball in regard to cardiac rehabilitation altogether.”

Dr Michael Jelinek, a cardiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, says the practice of cardiologists reviewing patients after six weeks jeopardises patients’ chances of returning to work sooner than expected.
