Research finds no evidence for vit D screen in NT kids
In the study of 98 children with a mean age of five, researchers found no difference in vitamin D insufficiency between Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants.
And no difference was found in hospitalisation rates for infection among children with deficiency (<50nmol/L) or insufficiency (50–75nmol/L) compared to those with sufficiency, although the numbers were small.
The study did not support routine screening of NT children, the authors said.
