Resilience key to parental mental illness

Child psychiatrist Professor William Beardslee told the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists’ annual conference in Sydney that interventions worked on two principles.

“One is — and this is very important for GPs — seeing the person as a parent first and then the diagnosis,” he said.
