Resistance to carbapenem not yet found in Aust

More than 3000 bacterial samples obtained over the last year from veterinary diagnostic labs have been tested for antimicrobial resistance in a study funded by animal health company Zoetis.

With more than half the E. coli samples tested, no carbapenem resistance has been found, the University of Adelaide researchers said in a press release.
