Respiratory-related death rates released

The number of deaths from asthma in Australia has dropped by more than two-thirds since the 1980s, according to a report on respiratory-related mortality.

Asthma was the underlying cause for 378 deaths in 2011, down substantially from the late eighties, although still relatively high compared with other developed countries, says the report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
