Review shows link between cocaine and stroke

Cocaine users appear to be at increased risk stroke, according to a systematic review of seven case-control and two cross-sectional studies.

Three of the case-control studies noted a positive association between cocaine use and strokes or atherosclerosis, and none of the others found a significant negative association, according to Dr MJ Bravo and colleagues from Spain’s National Centre of Epidemiology.
